Leonard L. Losey, Jr., 75 of Mooreland, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born April 12, 1951, in Albany, KY, a son of the late Leonard L. and Kate (Guffey) Losey.
Leonard attended Blue River Valley High School and worked for Brooks Foods in Mt. Summit for 21 years until their closing. He then worked for Taylor Construction for 19 years. He had attended the Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed racing and liked to joke with others.
He is survived by his four children, Sherry Losey of New Castle, Kathy Clouse of New Castle, Carolyn Losey of New Castle, and Jerry Losey Sr (Diana) of Eaton; grandchildren, Kayla (Samy) Wali of New Castle, Jose (Rosie) Martinez of Richmond, Maria Martinez of New Castle, Chelsey (Joseph) Barrett of Kennard, Shanea (Brandon) Criswell of New Castle, Dakota (Harley) Clouse of Straughn, Katelyn (Dylan) Galloway of Mooreland, Taylor (Austin) Darling of New Castle, Katie (Brandon) McGaughey of New Castle, James McGaughey of Anderson, Brittany (Willie) Kline of Mooreland, Micheal Losey of Mooreland, Derek Sizemore of New Castle, Jerry Losey Jr. of Mooreland, Jaron Losey of Mooreland, Harley Losey of New Castle, Briley Losey of Muncie; 21 great grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Denny of New Castle; a brother- in -law, Neal Jakes of New Castle, and a sister-in-law, Connie Losey of Mooreland; several d nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Micheal Losey, and a great granddaughter, Kenley Criswell; five sisters, Linda Delk, Gearlean Lowder, Joyce Rains, Lois Hicks, and Kathy Jakes; a brother, Paul Losey.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2026, at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery.
