Lileigh Joy Messer, age 7, of Pierceton, Indiana passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning, April 20, 2026 with her family by her side. She was born on February 8, 2019 in Muncie to Rudy Messer, Jr. and Brittany Sloan Huff.
Lileigh was a vibrant first-grader at Pierceton Elementary School whose infectious energy and bubbly personality lit up every room she entered. Exceptionally smart and outgoing, she is known for her signature sass and charming "no filter" approach to life, always keeping those around her on their toes. She possessed a heart of gold and a constant willingness to help anyone in need, especially when it involved her deep love for animals—particularly those on the farm. The epitome of all things girly, Lileigh expressed her sunny disposition through her favorite colors, pink and purple, and she was rarely seen without a smile. Whether she was snacking on her favorite treats of strawberries and pickles, watching Lilo and Stitch, or immersing herself in swimming, singing, and dancing to her favorite music, Lileigh lived life with a spirit that was as bright and unique as she was.
She is survived by her parents, Rudy Messer, Jr. (Linda Best) and Brittany Huff (Russell McKeehen); two brothers, Waylon-age 9 and Travis-age 16; step siblings, Oakley, Kinzley, Lily, Cami, and Angel; maternal grandparents, Shannon (Dawson) Schmidt, Eric (Amanda) Huff; paternal grandparents, Joy (Mike) Harris, Rudy Sr. (Karrie) Messer; maternal great grandparents, Robin (Don) Jones, Jennifer Reum, Gary (Lynn) Brookshire; uncles, Dylan (Jacklyn) Huff, Eric Tyler (Sam) Huff, Casey (Cassie) Messer and Amber Messer; special cousins, Kali, Haisley, Brinley, Taytum, Linden, Kami, Alexus, Marcus, Caleb, Corbin and Seth and several loving great aunts and uncles.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. The family requests that guests attending wear her favorite colors, pink and purple. Memorial contributions may be made to the Child Neurology Foundation-Epilepsy Education Hub, PO Box 1226, Lexington, KY 40588.
