Linda L. Jones

September 3, 1936 — January 28, 2026

Greenfield

Linda L. Jones, 89, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at The Waters of New Castle following a brief illness. She was born September 3, 1936, in Bedford, IN, a daughter of the late Louis Henry and Edith May (Tolliver) Lantz.

Linda retired from Link-Belt in Indianapolis following many years of service. After retiring from there, she enjoyed nannying for two families, which brought her great joy due to her love for children. She loved her grandchildren dearly, loved family gatherings, especially the annual Tolliver Reunion held in Bedford and Mitchell for many years. She also loved eating out with her lady friends from her church. A member of Christian Tabernacle in Indianapolis for over 43 years, she loved her church and adored her pastor and his wife.

A collector of recipes, she loved cooking, baking, and most of all making her coveted peanut brittle and bonbons at Christmastime, which her family and friends will surely miss. She also enjoyed canning, especially “her tomato juice”. An avid reader, she enjoyed getting lost in a book, and discussing it with others. She also enjoyed quilting.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Terri Lowry (Ken Lang) of Crawfordsville, Curtis Rhoten (Tabby Malone) of Indianapolis, and Cindy (Kevin) Brown of New Castle; grandchildren, Justin (Joanna) Lowry of Youngsville, LA, Erin “Nikki” Lowry of Martinsville, Julianna (Chase) Brumbaugh of Greentown, Cara West of Crawfordsville, Jeanne Stone of Columbus, Cody (Tabitha) Rhoten of Jacksonville, FL, Evan (Zoe) Brown of New Castle, and Olivia (Everett) Fritz of Port Orchard, WA; great grandchildren, Kendre, Abby, Emily, Kennedy, Landon, Corianna, Daxton, William, Brianna, Tessa, Carter, Rowan, Ethan, Hadley, Scarlett, Sophia, and Chloe; two nieces, Tess Borelli of Vacaville, CA, and Tina Lantz of Indianapolis; two nephews, Carl Dean (Julie) White and Craig White, both of Peru.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patrica Minton and Nancy White; a brother, Steve Lantz, and an infant brother, George Terry Lantz.
