Linda Ruth (Trees) Litten, 78, of Charlottesville, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Linda was born on May 14, 1947, on her family farm in Warrington, Indiana, a daughter of the late Everett and Ruth E. (Dotson) Trees.
Linda had a strong and unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior. She was a longtime member of the Warrington Church of the Nazarene, where she faithfully served in many roles. She taught Sunday School, played the piano and organ, and served as the church treasurer for many years.
Linda dedicated 40 years of service as a bus driver for Eastern Hancock Schools, where she was a familiar and friendly face to generations of students. She also spent a few years working in the school lunchroom.
She found joy in simple pleasures and creative pursuits. Linda loved knitting and crocheting, was an excellent cook, and cherished time spent traveling with her husband, Paul. Together they made many special memories, including trips to Shipshewana, a memorable train ride to California, and visiting all 50 states as well as several countries.
Linda is survived by his children: Paul R. (Valerie) Litten II of Washington, Illinois; Dennis D. (Karen) Litten of Lebanon; and Chad (Dr. Amber Karkosky-Litten) Litten of Mooresville; grandchildren, Samuel Paul Litten, Emily Rose (Will) Wisniewski, Wesley Everett (Claudia) Litten, Matthew N. Copeland, Melanie N. (Fiancé: Christian Henderson) Copeland, Myranda K. Litten, McKale K. Litten, and Maddox K. Litten; great-grandsons, Wesley Everett Litten II and Kyrie Henderson; siblings, Everett E. (Joni) Trees Jr. and Holly S. Miller both of Warrington.
She is also survived by her son-in-law, John Copeland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul R. Litten; daughter, Pamela Copeland and son, Jeffrey Litten.
Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral service in Knightstown with Pastors Brad Hacker and Ron Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given in Linda’s honor to Elevate Church of the Nazarene, PO Box 262 Shirley, IN 47384.
