Linda Faye Mackey

Linda Faye Mackey, 80, of Muncie passed away Monday, March 9, 2026 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born December 12, 1945 in Tateville, Kentucky to Robert and Rena (Burris) West.

She spent her younger years square‑dancing with her daughters, a tradition that blossomed into countless evenings at the Eagles and Christmas and Easter parties. She also loved riding on her bike with her daughters and later her grandchildren, while also enjoying time for flea‑marketing, rummage‑sales, playing BINGO, and the quiet cultivation of irises and roses in her beloved garden—a passion that earned her a cherished place in the East Central Indiana Iris Club. Linda devoted many years to Vogue Cleaners and Foam Rubber for eight steady years in New Castle. Baptized at First Christian Church in New Castle, where she also attended until her health declined. Her life was a tapestry of dance, devotion, and diligent care, woven with the love of family, friends, and the simple pleasures she so fully embraced.

She is survived by her husband, Edward “Ed” Mackey; daughters, Bonnie (Jericho) Ford and Michelle (Bob) Smith; grandchildren, Matthew Poole, Trenton (Mariah) Dungan, Brandy (Matthew) Tomey; great grandchildren, Makayla, Aryanna, Aryah, Adron, Treyton, Annabella, Robin and Scarlet; sister, Nina Dishman and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death a granddaughter, Danyelle Jolley; siblings, Ann McRoberts, Margaret Pyle, Irvin and Norman Gene West.
