Linda J. McCaslin, 68, of New Castle passed away due to complications of Covid-19 while at IU Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born November 6, 1952 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Delmar McCaslin Sr. and Jane (Chesher) McCaslin.
A 1971 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Linda served in the United States Navy. A trailblazer, she took on landscaping and security positions in the Navy that were previously held only by male sailors. She was a longtime member of Whittier Lane Baptist Church in New Castle. A school bus aide for several years, she recently was a teacher’s aide at Westwood Elementary School, a job that she dearly loved.
