Linda Kaye Nicholas

August 20, 1951 — June 6, 2026

Mooreland

Linda Kaye Nicholas, 74, passed away Saturday, June 6th, after a series of long illnesses. She was the daughter of James Herbert and Nellie Eva (Smith) Savage in Albany, Kentucky on August 20th, 1951, and kept a lifelong connection to Clinton County, Kentucky.

She graduated from Blue River Valley High School in Mount Summit, Indiana in 1969. At Blue River Valley High she met the love of her life, Anthony Wade Nicholas, and they were married on August 30th, 1969, remaining married until Wade's passing in 2010. The couple raised two sons; David Wade and Brad Allan, and were a family built on love, humor, loyalty, and commitment.

Linda loved to laugh and was happiest around her loved ones. She was selfless, often putting the needs of others before herself, even if it meant she went without. She loved animals, butterflies, and flowers. She enjoyed spending time watching the bird feeders in front of the house, always pointing out when she would see a cardinal.

As Linda got older, she was not your average "senior citizen." At Brad's insistence, she got out of the house to do things as often as her health would allow. She enjoyed a variety of activities from going to movies to attending concerts anywhere from Barry Manilow to the heavy metal band Ghost, which she loved.

Linda adored watching Brad in action as a professional wrestler at his shows, making her a huge fan of professional wrestling in general watching WWE and AEW whenever they aired. Brad’s wrestling name is Hooks, and she became a beloved part of his fans and coworkers enough to be known as Mama Hooks.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wade, her son David, her parents Herb & Nellie, brothers Donny & James, sister Norma, and cherished cousin Karin.

She is survived by her son Brad, who dedicated his life to taking care of her after the passing of Wade and David. This formed an unbreakable bond of love, strength, and dedication between the two of them up until the very end. As part of their family, she is survived by her beloved grand-cat Charlie. Linda adored Charlie and Charlie loved his grandma; their relationship confirmed by Linda’s nightly routine telling Charlie goodnight before going to bed.

Linda is also survived by her best friend Jana Luellen, who was a constant source of support and laughter. She was also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws that loved her endlessly, honorary children, friends of her own children and countless friends & companions that will celebrate her memory. Never forget how much she loved all of you.
