Lola M. (Baker) Whitehead, 97, of New Castle went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation of New Castle. She was born April 23, 1928 in Cumberland County, Kentucky to CB and Bertha (Mclusky) Baker.
Lola worked at Bill’s Diner for 23 years, cooking many delicious meals for the families of New Castle. She was a long-time member of Four-Square church and served her church by cooking delicious meals for those in need. Lola loved to cook and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish Lola’s memory are her sons, Harry (Connie) Whitehead, Larry Whitehead, Jerry (Rhonda) Whitehead, Mike Whitehead and David (Sandy) Whitehead all of New Castle; grandchildren, Josh Bertram, Nikki Ashby, Storm Whitehead, Jackie Sears, Ronnie Whitehead, Scotty Whitehead, Amanda Whitehead, Michelle Bell, Amber Fesler, Stephanie Buscemi, Chad Whitehead, Jayson Perdue, Stephanie Perdue, Matt Cupp and Carla Cupp; sister, Shirley Avery of Marion; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends, Jeff Stoffer and Becky York.
In addition to her parents Lola was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Whitehead in 1983; grandson, Shane Whitehead; daughter-in-law, Donna Whitehead; siblings Beaulah, Kate, Eva, Betty, Euldean, Benny and Weldon.
Services will be held Monday, November 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
