New Castle

Lynda Alberson, 63, of New Castle passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Stonebrooke in New Castle. She was born on November 5, 1962, in New Castle to the late Marion "Gene" and Dayton (Cross) Alberson.

She was a proud graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School class of 1981. Lynda had many friends she considered family and was honored to know. She lived a simple life always trying to be a friend to everyone. Lynda loved basketball, her favorites were New Castle of course and the Indiana Hoosiers. She enjoyed bowling, reading, writing and just to be a good friend. If Lynda was in a place where she could watch people, she was in heaven. People and animals are what she loved most.

Lynda is survived by many friends and cousins, including Monte Bottoms her best friend and so much more from the age of 15 until her passing. Catherine Nikki (Brian) Koontz and Ryan (Audrey) Cross and their families, cousins she thought of as nieces and nephews. Mary (Yony) Nicholson and their families, who took Lynda many places and were instrumental in making her teen years as normal as possible. Karen (Don) Heaslip which was like a sister to her. Many from her beloved camp that she attended from 1973 to 1995. Many loved ones in Albany, Kentucky including, Terry (Jerry) Aaron, Ginger (Wayne) Conn. Many Alberson family members. Many of her 1981 and 1982 classmates that cared for her just like family. Caregivers, Glenda and Tammi and her staff that gave Lynda such great care. And most of all her pets that were her children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins, along with her beloved, Pepper and Moe.
