Mable Marie (Graddy) Mills, 90, formerly of Kennard passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at her residence in Indianapolis. She was born December 10, 1922 in Anderson, IN to the late William Otto and Glenna (Butler) Graddy.
She retired as a cook from Knightstown and Kennard schools and previously was employed at Delco-Remy in Anderson. Mable was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in New Castle and the Locust Grove Community Club. She loved family gatherings, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other favorite activities included word search and jigsaw puzzles and playing BINGO.
She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Daniel (Karen) Mills of Cumberland, Martha Mills of Indianapolis, Thomas (Lori) Mills of Indianapolis, Donna (Doug) Jackson of Urbandale, IA, Paul (Ruth) Mills of Greenfield, Elaine (Ray) Beasley of Newport, NC and Beth (Grant) Cooper of Indianapolis; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Everett Mills on January 17, 2002; two sisters: Mary Edna Stamm and Cora Irene Atkinson and a brother: James W. Graddy.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church in New Castle with her oldest grandson, Father Tom Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel and after 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be a Rosary Service held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Anne Cemetery Fund.
