Marcia L. Landon, 53, of Cambridge City, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in New Castle following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born October 25, 1972 in Indianapolis, a daughter of Charles and Linda (Thompson) Stroud.
A graduate of Tri High School in Straughn, Indiana, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from Anderson University. She worked as a nurse until her illness. She was a member of the Carthage Community Wesleyan Church.
Marcia enjoyed working in Women’s Ministries and children’s activities, especially with her grandson and nieces and nephews. She enjoyed Bible studies, vacations and Christmas shopping. She also thoroughly enjoyed being involved in her kids’ activities and sports when they were younger.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 29 years, Stephen Landon, of Cambridge City, whom she married April 12, 1997; her parents, Charles and Linda Stroud; sons, Dylan (Jessica) Landon and Gunnar (Lauren) Landon; grandson, Kaden Landon; brothers, Scott (Allison) Stroud, Douglas (Brandy) Stroud, and Kent (Danielle) Stroud; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and cousins.
Marcia was preceded in death by both her paternal and maternal grandparents; aunt, Sondra (Eston) Dooley; uncle, Randy Thompson; and mother-in-law, Jimmie Landon.
Services will be on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Doug Stroud and Kent Stroud officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen Wellington Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
