Marlena Kay Roberts, 79, Greenfield, gained her angel wings after a courageous battle with cancer. Her unbelievable attitude of positivity and joy was something to experience. She had an amazing partner in life, Kent Mitchell, who took care of her until she could no longer fight. The love and commitment were amazing to watch and a true testimony of what it means to be there unconditionally and to love beyond all measure. She was truly blessed.
Marlena spent her career in banking which spanned over 40 years. She retired as Vice President from American Bank and Trust, now Wellworth in Livingston, Tennessee.
Marlena is survived by Kent Mitchell, Greenfield, his daughter Misty and granddaughter Penny Weins, Peoria, Illinois, son, Bob Johnson (Kim), Noblesville, granddaughters, Abbey Grace (fiancé, Nick Coffeen), San Diego, CA, Chelsea Faith of Carmel, Chloe Hope of Noblesville, Lindsey Joy of Bloomington; son, Kelly Kimbrough, Muncie; granddaughter, Jesica Ginley (Nate); great grandchildren, Harper, Cole and Graham of Pendleton; sister, Kathy Burgauer (Ed), niece, Amy Sargent (Matt) of Muncie and great nephew, Zachary, Muncie.
Not to mention the multitude of friends and people that she touched in her life.
She was preceded in death by daughters, Melody Sue, Kimberly Renee Wade (Jamie), her parents, Frank and Thelma Luellen, and her niece, Ashley Burgauer.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
She loved deeply and cared beyond measure. Marlena will be missed but her spirit for love and life will live on in her memory in the lives she touched.

The family has planned a Celebration of Life in Marlena on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at The Elks Lodge in New Castle from 4-8 p.m. Friends and family of Marlena are welcome to attend and share in this celebration.
