Martha "Marty" Mae Bowling, 91, formerly of Mooreland, passed away on November 13, 2025, at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN. She was born on February 25, 1934, in Fayette County, IN, to the late Irvin and Mable (Trager) Morris.
A true testament to kindness, Marty was known for her friendly demeanor, embodying the principle that "you never met a stranger." Her welcoming nature extended beyond her home, as she often invited others to sit at her table in restaurants, ensuring that no one felt alone. She was strong in her faith and was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Muncie, IN.
Marty spent countless hours sewing, knitting, and quilting, sharing her skills by teaching classes in knitting and oil painting. She found joy in gardening, cultivating beautiful blooms that enriched both her home and the hearts of those around her. Summers were particularly special for her, as she would fill her home with laughter and joy, having her grandchildren over to create cherished memories.
She had a playful side, affectionately calling her daughters and anyone she couldn’t remember the name of “little rats,” a term of endearment that brought smiles and giggles to all who heard it. Marty and her husband shared a daily ritual of breakfast together, a moment that was not just a meal, but a cherished time of connection and love.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 71 years, Paul Bowling; daughters, Paula (Stacy) Odom and Kim (Steve) Park; grandchildren, Tayt (Cori) Odom, Brant (Christina) Odom, Tanner Park, and Ashton (Kyle) Ousley; great grandchildren, Kinsey Odom, Dillon Odom, Kammen Odom, Jaden Odom, Ara Odom, Harrison Odom, Tavon Odom, Ava Odom, Quinn Odom, Callen Odom, Parker Ousley, and Porter Ousley.
In addition to her parents, Marty was preceded in death by her infant son, Ray Donavon Bowling.
