Martha Bernice Shelton

Martha Bernice Shelton, 90, a resident of New Castle passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born June 27, 1931 in New Castle to the late Guy T. and Sarah M. (Young) Smith.
Bernice was a graduate of New Castle High School and was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene. The most important things in life to Bernice were the love of her church and her family.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years: Windle Levi Shelton; a son: Rick (Sandra K) Shelton of Knoxville, TN; a daughter: Nancy (Terrell) Jackson of New Castle; grandchildren: Marc (Sarah) Shelton of Fishers, Brent (Elaine) Shelton of Murfreesboro, TN, Eric (Michelle) Jackson of New Castle, Tara (Dan) Smith of New Castle and Amy (Chris) Johnson of Lebanon, TN; 14 great-grandchildren: sister: Debbie (Bill) Eden of Kokomo; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son: John Timothy; two sisters and two brothers.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with her son, Rev. Rick Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery in Hagerstown. Condolences and memories of Bernice may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
