Mary M. Halsell, a cherished former resident of New Castle, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at the age of 91, at the Harbour Manor Health and Living Center in Noblesville, IN. Born on October 29, 1934, in Albany, Kentucky, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Jerry and Lillian (Ooten) Sell.

Mary devoted over half a century to her career at CVS/Hooks Drugs, serving the communities of New Castle and Knightstown with dedication and warmth. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her deep love for her family. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling alongside her twin sister, delighting in new experiences as well as the simple joys of cooking and sharing family meals.

She is survived by her devoted children: her son Claude Davis and his wife Sara of Bonita Springs, Florida, and her daughter Deniece Cavallaro and her husband John of Westfield, Indiana. Mary’s legacy continues through her grandchildren Ashley (Ryan) Petty, Evan (Baili) Davis, Missy (Andy) Dallner, and Andrea (Baron) Gambrel, as well as her great-grandchildren Addison, Gigi, Fitz, Molly, Lainey, Annie, Addie, and Brody. She is also remembered fondly by her nephew Kenny Akers and her niece Sheila March.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Gwen Key and Nova McDowell, whose memories she held dear throughout her life.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at South Mound Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Community Foundation General Fund, 700 S. Memorial Dr, New Castle, IN 47362. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Mary at www.hinsey-brown.com.
