Mary "Katie" Katherine Tesmer

Mary “Katie” Katherine Tesmer, 77, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the Waters of New Castle. She was born March 3, 1948 to the late Harold and Frances (Beatty) Elliott in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Katie worked at Wal-Mart and Jerry’s Supermarket. She also loved babysitting and has watched many children over the years. Katie’s hobbies included knitting, crocheting and gardening. She also loved her many pets. Most of all, she had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Katie was a fun, feisty and stubborn woman. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish Katie’s memory are her husband, Robert Tesmer; children, Sarah, Barbara Ann, Lisa, Stella, Wayman, Shawn, Ashley, Jennifer, Heather, Robie and Josh; several grandchildren, including, Kaylin, Logan, Keeleigh, Elijah, Ava, Max, Blake, Dylan and Michael; several great grandchildren; siblings, Eve, Jimmy, Bobby, Patty and Sarah; special nephew, Todd and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Marvin, Lillian; a brother-in-law, Allen and her father and mother-in-law.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, at 12:00 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial and graveside service will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition officiated by Pastor Philip Trent.
