Mary E. "Lynn" Williams

Mary E. “Lynn” Williams, 85, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. She was born on April 13, 1940, in Connersville, IN, to the late Charles and Rosemary (Blank) Young.

She was a proud 1958 graduate of Connersville High School. Lynn was known for her adventurous spirit, having visited all 50 states and Canada, many times through JuMa Tours. Her hobbies included counted cross stitch, knitting, bowling, bridge, daily crossword puzzles, and she was an avid reader.

Lynn's contributions to the bowling community were significant; she was a member of the Women's International Bowling Congress and participated in national tournaments, held all over the country, for over 20 years. Her dedication was recognized when she was inducted into the New Castle WBA Hall of Fame on May 6, 1988. Additionally, she was an active member of Lambda Chi Omega, Iota Chapter in Connersville, IN.

Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bob Williams; children, Stephen (Dawn) Williams, Susan Williams, and Sherry (Ed) Sweetland; granddaughter, Amanda Williams; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lynn was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Denny and Donna Young.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church in New Castle with Father Michael Prakason Puthumaisavari officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the Mass at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anne Catholic Church or to The Cottage at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center.
