Mary Susan "Susie Q" (Vannatta) Winchester

Mary Susan “Susie Q” (Vannatta) Winchester of New Castle went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2025, peacefully at home, with her loved ones by her side. She was born on July 29, 1946 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Francis and Anna Cathrine (Wallace) Vannatta.

Susie retired from AT&T and John Knox Village located in Lee’s Summit, MO. Susie loved crafting, Hallmark movies and shows, being with her family, word searches, knitting and coloring books.

She’s survived by her daughter, Lisa (Lewis) Winchester; grandchildren, Brittany (Winchester) Mefford (husband: Nathan), Natilee (Dempsey) McClure (husband: Efrem), Kristen Dempsey and Brandon Winchester; great grandchildren, Brenden Cullison, Zoey Clayborn, Austyn Hill, Addyson Hill; brother, Jerry Vannatta; favorite niece, Terrie Vannatta; several other nieces and nephews.

She will be missed dearly.

In keeping with Susie Q’s wishes, a simple cremation will take place with no public ceremony.
