Maudie Marie (Shadoan) Phillips, 97, of Fort Wayne and formerly of New Castle passed away Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne. She was born June 27, 1922 in Burnside, Kentucky to the late Oscar and Lilllie (Taylor) Mayfield.
She is a retired employee of the Chrysler Junior-Senior High School Corporation, where she was employed for several years. Maudie was a faithful member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in New Castle for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Ron) Lunk of Mount Hermon, Louisiana and Diane (Calvin) Glover of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Scott Huweart, Steven Glover and Ashley (Micah) Grose; four great grandchildren, Gabriel, Aliyah, Nathaniel and Benjamin; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ruben Shadoan, whom passed away April 7, 1986; second husband, Rev. Earl C. Phillips, whom passed away February 19, 2016; three brothers, Hurstle Mayfield, Thurstle Mayfield and Vernon Mayfield; and two daughters, Wilma and Linda Shadoan.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4 at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 131 South 26th Street New Castle, IN 47362, with Pastor Donnie Silvers and Rev. Gary McCutchen officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church.
