Melba R. Gallien, 95, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at Henry Community Health Hospital. She was born on November 10, 1929, in Canton, IL, the daughter of Louis and Clara Randall.
Melba retired from Delco Remy in Anderson, IN, after 14 years of service. She was a member of the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and antiquing. She was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church in New Castle.
Melba is survived by her sons, Richard L. Gallien of Indianapolis and Daniel Gallien of New Castle; grandchildren, Chad Gallien of Knightstown, Emily Gallien of New Castle, Justin Spoonamore and Joshua Spoonamore both of Indianapolis, and Lacy LaRue of Linton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Richard Gallien; daughter, Vicki Lynn Gallien; and two sisters, Mabel Randall and Ellen Foster.
Services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
