Merrell McDaniel

Merrell McDaniel, 77, of Muncie passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 28, 1948, in Muncie to the late James and Avis (Briggs) McDaniel.

Lover of the outdoors, Merrell enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird watching. He could be found working around the yard and feeding the animals. Merrell worked in construction as a heavy equipment mechanic and as a reserve police officer for the Muncie Police Dept.

Merrell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda McDaniel; daughter, Cindy McDaniel; siblings, Ron McDaniel, Bill McDaniel, Lisa Burton, May Fields and Annie Keeton.

In addition to his parents Merrell is preceded in death by a daughter, Robin McDaniel; siblings, Jim McDaniel, Judy Runyon, Jo Tuttle, Darla Shields and Mike McDaniel.
