Mildred King

May 23, 1918 — September 12, 2008

Mildred King, 90, currently of New Castle and a former longtime resident of Lewisville, went to be with the Lord with all her children by her bedside Friday, September 12, 2008. She was born May 23, 1918 in Moreland, Kentucky to the late Ira and Annie (Myers) Moser.

Mrs. King was retired nurse. She and her husband started the New Hope Nursing Home in Lewisville, and she had also worked at Henry County Memorial Hospital as an LPN. She did a lot of community service for the elderly and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She especially enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, volunteering, attending church activities and was a faithful prayer warrior.

Survivors include three daughters: Mary Ann Skinner of Ft. Wayne, Sue (husband: Jim) Chew and Jane (husband: Tom) White, both of New Castle; a son: John (wife: Yvonne) King of Hawaii; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a brother Ira (wife: Elizabeth) Moser of Danville, KY; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ben King; and three brothers: Gentry, Pete and Lester Moser.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Jonathan Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church.
