Naomi Myrtle Marlett

March 5, 1935 — January 20, 2023

Naomi Myrtle Marlett, 87, of New Castle passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at The Waters of Middletown, where she had resided for a couple weeks. She was born March 5, 1935 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Lyndsy and Mattie (Skiles) Raisor.

Naomi attended Ben Davis High School and married her husband, Herbert on December 26, 1964. She retired from Aramark after many years of service. She and Herb enjoyed their travels to many places over their married life, Hawaii being one of their favorites. Their favorite city was Chicago, visiting often, frequenting many of the finer restaurants in the city where they enjoyed the food and music.

She was an active member of Christian Tabernacle Church in Indianapolis for over 50 years, where she loved her church family and had taught Sunday School. She moved to New Castle in 2018 to be with her great niece and family, Marcella and David Brown. With her smile and friendly personality, she thoroughly enjoyed living at Raintree Square Assisted Living facility and attending First Apostolic Church, making many friends at both places who loved her dearly.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a sister, Rachel Bodimer of Brandenton, FL; and a brother, David Raisor of Avon; many nieces and nephews, great; great-great; and great great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Marlett in 2002; two sisters, Myrtle Pruitt and Lillan Nash; and two brothers, Jim Raisor and Daniel Raisor.
