Patricia "Patty" Jane Bowen, 76, passed away on June 24, 2025, just days shy of her 77th birthday. Patty was born on June 28, 1948, in New Castle, to the late James and Mary (Snedigar) Loveall.
Patty graduated from Spiceland High School in 1966, laying the foundation for a life filled with rich experiences. She dedicated a significant part of her career to the Draper Shade factory, from which she retired in 2011.
Beyond her career, Patty was a passionate individual whose heart belonged to her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, as they were truly her world. Her playful spirit shone brightly even in her late 60s when she delighted in sliding down the homemade water slide at her grandkids' house, reminding everyone that joy knows no age. Patty also found contentment in simple pleasures; sitting on the deck to watch birds, tending to her vibrant garden, and relishing her favorite treats, peppermint puffs and Reese's cups, which she could consume with impressive speed.
Patty was a lover of music, with a special fondness for country and gospel tunes, often filling her home with melodies that reflected her joyful spirit. She also enjoyed family trips to Gatlinburg, creating cherished memories in the beautiful great outdoors.
Perhaps one of her proudest accomplishments was her courageous battle against breast cancer, a testament to the strength and fighting spirit that defined her life. Patty faced challenges head-on, leaving a legacy of strength and determination that will continue to inspire her loved ones.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Melissa Richardson; grandchildren, Ashley Cunningham and Douglas (Nicole) Cunningham; great grandchildren, Calvin Hatfield, Mackinze Ross, Greyson Cunningham, and Adalynn Cunningham; special friend and caregiver, Anna Stearns; and sister, Terri (Nick) Watson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Bowen; her twin brother, James Loveall; and her niece, Stephanie Watson.
