Prentice "Ron" Ronald Hargraves

Prentice Ronald “Ron” Hargraves, 77, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born May 5, 1948, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Prentice Ronald Hargraves and Ruby Wade.

Ron was a commercial artist and utilized his skills to paint city murals and holiday window art for many retails stores all over the Midwest and down to Florida, but mostly in Indianapolis. He lived in Broad Ripple for many years and enjoyed riding his bicycle for transportation instead of driving his car.

He is survived by his wife, Kimmie Whitis of Indianapolis; three sons, Scottie Ronald Hargraves of California, Danny Lummis of Indianapolis and Prentice R. (Cheryl) Hargraves of Greenfield; seven grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences and memories of Ron may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
