Priscilla Mae Ankrom, 81, a resident of Greenfield passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at her home. She was born October 16, 1940 in New Castle to the late Lawrence M. and Esta Mae (Saunders) Sayre.
Born and raised in New Castle, she also lived in Knightstown for many years. Priscilla was a member of South Side Church of Christ in New Castle. An accomplished cake decorator, she taught cake decorating classes and was a judge for 4-H cake entries. Priscilla and her husband, John, owned and operated a floral shop for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was always willing to help others, placing their needs ahead of her own. Most of all, Priscilla loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years: John H. Ankrom; two daughters: Brenda Mae (Bruce) Orr of Greenfield/New Castle and Catherine L. (Mark) Moore of Clinton, Wisconsin; a son: John I. (Dorothy) Ankrom of Tipton; 11 grandchildren: John Michael (Crystal) Ankrom, Esta Mae Denny, Christina (Brandon) Conyers, Tiffany (Nate) Wooten, Lesli Denny, Joshua Ankrom, Alycia (JR) Sutton, Marcus Moore, Derek (Alissa) Orr, Nikki (Matt) Daffron and Neva Orr; 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother: Jerry M. Sayre of Limestone, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Diana Lingenfelter; granddaughter: Becky Ankrom and 3 siblings: Peggy Clark, Richard and Michael Sayre.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 1 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Minister Patrick McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 31 at the funeral home.
