Ray H. Smith, Jr., 62, of Knightstown, passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at Henry Community Health. He was born September 21, 1964, in Greenfield, the son of the late Ray H. Smith Sr. and Mary Ruth (Arnold) Smith.

Ray graduated from Knightstown High School and attended Purdue University. He then received an Associated degree from Ivy Tech through the Sheet Metal Union. He worked for the Sheet Metal Local #20 for 39 years.

He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Crossroad Church of God in New Castle.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sonia K. Smith of Knightstown, a son, Ray Smith III; stepsons, Jack (Sabre) Lynch and Michael B. Lynch; grandsons, Rockston, Rutley, and Remmington Lynch.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his sister, Marcy Scott.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Rev. Henry Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Crossroads Church, 2748 N. State Road 3, New Castle, IN, 47362. Condolences and memories of Ray may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
