Rhoda R. Hamblin, 77, of Wilkinson, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born August 23, 1944 in Indianapolis the daughter of Chester Earl and Rieva Martelle (Bronson) Wires.
Rhoda was a writer for the Knightstown Banner, The Courier Times, had a blog and had written her own book. She was a loving mom, a funny person and an awesome cook. Rhoda never knew a stranger and everyone was always welcome at her home. She had a big heart, loved fiercely, was a voice of reason and honesty and great advice giver.
Rhoda is survived by children: Gwen (Greg) Back of Shirley, Jo (Chad) Starrett of Shirley, Bob (Lori) Hamblin of Indianapolis, and Brian (Kristi) Hamblin of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Brittany (Back) Scott, Kyle and Ryan Back, Danny Culbertson, Skylar (Culbertson) Hartman, Joey Starrett, Kaylee Strong Hamblin, Savanah Strong Bruns, Emma, Zane and Liam Hamblin; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Rieva Lee Conway; 18 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Phillip Hamblin, Jr.; brothers, Ron and Dennis Wires.
Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until time of service. Condolences and memories of Rhoda may be shared at
