Richard “Dick” Lynn Henderson, 80, of Ft. Branch passed away June 10, 2019 at the Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 19, 1938 in Rush County to the late Louis and Grace (Howard) Henderson.
Dick was a veteran of the US Army. He retired from Universal Food Corporation following 21-25 years of service as a truck driver. Following retirement, Dick was the caretaker to the Conservation Club in Floyds Knobs, IN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and tinkering with all kinds of things and would do so until they reached working condition.
Dick is survived by his significant other of 30 years, Heidi Armstrong of Ft. Branch; children, Michael L. (Tamyra) Henderson of Indianapolis, Dawn (David) Barber of New Palestine, Ricky Henderson, Ingrid (George) Robinson of Ft. Branch, Sharon Armstrong of Ft. Branch, and Randy (Maggie)of Hazelton; brother, Charles Henderson of Greenfield; grandchildren, Jamin Henson, Jared Henson, Emily Pavey, Madeline Pavey, Lydia Barber, Summer McCauley, Brianna (Damon) Henderson-Hoskins, Desiree and Dawson Armstrong, Ravin, Jess, and Macray Robinson; great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Zachary, Landon, Eli, and Jameson.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his siblings, Lios Henderson, Ralph “Bud” Henderson, Ruth Rawleigh, Raymond Henderson, Beverly Henderson, Mary Josephine Graham, William “ Bill” Henderson, Robert “Bob” Henderson, Carlyon “Betty” Henderson, Margaret Rose Leavitt; grandson, Jordan Armstrong.
Services will be at 2:00p.m. Friday, June 14, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Carthage, with military rites conducted by the American Legion and US Army.
