Ricky A. Shelton

Ricky "Rick" A. Shelton, 63, of New Castle passed away Monday, June 29, 2026 at his residence. He was born February 11, 1963 in New Castle to the late Ed and Thelma (Gordon) Shelton.

Rick was proud of his service in the United States National Guard. He retired from New Castle Stainless, formerly OutoKumpu, where he was a proud member of the U.S.W. Beyond his professional life, he found his greatest joy in the freedom of the outdoors and NASCAR. Rick enjoyed learning martial arts and captivating those around him with his vast imagination and endless supply of stories.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cyndi D. Shelton; a daughter, Shonda West (Steven Brown); granddaughters, Alyssa and Kayelyn Helm; great grandson, Payton; siblings, Sandy Lowe, Patty (Mike) Todd, Sue (Jerry) Dalton, Jerry Sweigart, Eddie (Debbie) Shelton, Mike (Gina) Shelton and Billy Shelton and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Military honors will be conducted by contingents from the American Legion and VFW.
