Robert Michael Betters

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Betters, who departed this world unexpectedly after a short illness on May 1, 2026. Born May 22, 1940, in Washington D.C., Robert, affectionately known as Bob, lived a long and rich life.

Bob was the cherished son of the late Albert and Marian Betters. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ethel Betters, with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage.

A proud patriot, Robert served his country with honor as a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Bob pursued a career in engineering, dedicating his professional life to Delphi in Anderson, Indiana, until his retirement.

In his younger years, Bob was an avid bodybuilder and weightlifter, channeling his boundless energy and enthusiasm into these pursuits. He also found joy in the thrill of the open water and the freedom of the open road, spending countless hours boating and riding motorcycles. A dedicated sports fan, Bob’s passion for athletics mirrored his zest for life.

Bob is survived by his devoted son, Paul Betters, and daughter-in-law, Amber; his brother, Richard Betters; his grandchildren, Cody Betters and wife Lindsey, Christmas Fisher, and Christina Phillips and husband John; and many great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held to honor Bob’s life and legacy. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Ethel.
