Robert “Bob” Edward Stone, 74, of Dunreith, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness and surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on February 10, 1952, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, a son of the late James Earl Stone and Betty Elizabeth (Rayburn) Black.

Bob was a man of strong faith who loved his church and Jesus more than anything. His faith was an important part of his life, and was known to leave family gatherings to attend church.

Bob enjoyed many things in life, including fishing, deer and squirrel hunting, playing cards, especially Uno and Euchre and attending auctions. He was an avid lover of bluegrass music and enjoyed spending time at Mount Lawn Speedway. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke and tease those around him.

Above all, Bob cherished his family and especially his wife, Judy Stone, whom he adored. The two enjoyed taking golf cart rides together with their beloved dog, Brutus. Bob also held a special place in his heart for his cat, Gracie. He retired from INDOT following 32 years of services.

Bob will be remembered for his strong faith, loving heart, playful sense of humor, and the joy he brought to his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Michelle Vaughn of New Castle; Bobby (Angela) Stone of North Vernon, Beth Stone of GA and Brandon Stone of NC; two grandsons: Kyle (Ashley) Eaton of Cadiz and Mitchell (Miranda) Vaughn of New Castle; great grandchildren: Hailey, Veda, Harper, Kyle Jr. and Kirra; 12 additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Ronnie)Fultz of Spiceland; one great-great-granddaughter, Eliana Martz; nephews, Christopher Wayne (Kelly) Fultz of Mooreland and James Ryan (Crystal) Fultz of New Castle; numerous cousins; best friends, Ronnie, Tim, Chuck, Ivan, Juni and Jerry.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Deanne “Judy” Stone; brother, Phillip Stone; nephew, Ronald Earl Fultz.

Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, October 9, 2026 at the Knightstown Church of God with Pastor Tim Denny. Burial will follow in Dunreith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00pm Thursday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown location. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s honor may be given to the Knightstown Church of God, 405 E.
