Robert “Buddy” Reeves, 80, of Springport, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Robert was born on June 1, 1946, in Henry County, Indiana, to the late Ollie R. and Iona Alma (Goldy) Reeves.
Buddy was a kind hearted man that was always willing to help others any way he could. When Buddy was around there was never silence, he would break in to one of his well-known stories; he loved to tell stories.
Buddy graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School with the Class of 1964. A dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life, Buddy was employed at Perfect Circle for 25 years before beginning a second career as a semi-truck driver with Schneider Trucking, where he worked for 20 years. He later was employed by Citizens State Bank in their maintenance department.
Robert was a member of the Rose City Vagabonds hiking club and served as a Cub Scout Pack Leader for Pack 460. He was a faithful member of South Memorial Drive Church of God for more than 70 years.
He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and spending time around a campfire with family and friends.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diana (Hawks) Reeves of Springport; children, Kimberly Ann Fink of Florida and Bob Reeves of New Castle; grandchildren, Taylar Hill of Shelbyville, Lloyd and Adam Fink both of Florida, Avery Reeves of New Castle; great grandson, Jenson Stinson of Shelbyville; brothers-in-law, Keith (Sharon) Hawks of Battle Ground, Melvin (Karann) Hawks of Mt. Summit and Gary (Diane) Hawks of New Castle; sister-in-law, Susan (John) Kerlin of Marion; aunt, Marjorie Reeves of Ogden; several nieces and nephews.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gloria “Sue” Davis.
Services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions in Buddy’s honor may be given to the South Memorial Drive Church of God.
