Robert Carroll

Robert Jackson Carroll, Sr. 66, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness. He was born November 19, 1942 in Henry County the son of Charles and Marciella Carroll.

He retired from Noblesville Casting after 30 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, the horse track and racing, and being with his family. He also enjoyed watching the western channel, western movies, and listening to bluegrass and bluegrass gospel.

He is survived by a son: Bob (wife: Beth) Carroll of New Castle; grandchildren: Heather (fiance: Jeremy Ellison) Carroll; Bobby Carroll of New Castle; great grandson: Jaxon Ellison; brothers: Billy Joe Carroll of New Castle; David (wife: Elsie) Carroll of Brown County; sisters: Delores Murphy of New Castle; Nancy (husband: Bill) Bolton of New Castle; Rosemary (husband: Tony) Torres of Bonita Springs, FL; Violet Goad of New Castle; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Marion Carroll; brother-in-law: Billy Goad; cousin: Kathy Weems.

Services will be Monday, November 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Steve Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the funeral home.
