Rodney David Boiles

Rodney David Boiles, 67, a resident of Spiceland passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. He was born May 12, 1958 in New Castle to Robert Lee and Orlynn June (Burton) Boiles.

A 1976 graduate of Blue River High School, Rodney was employed as a certified semi mechanic at Celadon Trucking company, retiring after 20 years of service. A farmer and a fisherman, he was always tinkering with something. Rodney was a member of the NRA and enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies include cooking out, boating on the lake and water skiing.

Survivors include his mother, Orlynn Houser of New Castle; nieces and nephews: Eric (Kristy) Chesher, Teresa Chesher, Israel Chesher, Jess (Kim) Boiles, Joe (Penny) Boiles and Jon (Savanah) Boiles; great-nieces and nephews: Cody June Chew, Harley (Jackie) Chesher, Makenzie (Garrett) Bankston, Samantha Grunow, Briana Chesher, Joseph Boiles, Hayden Boiles, Matthew Boiles, Heather Boiles, Levi Boiles, Lily Boiles, Kegan Boiles, Ryan Boiles and Kelsie Boiles; three great-great nieces and nephews: Hayden Chew, Juneth Chew and Lainey East.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father: Robert Lee Boiles; sister: Rita June Hollars; brother: Robin L. Boiles; niece: Amy June Chesher and a great-nephew: Patrick M. Chew.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
