Ronald “Ron” Dean Terrell, 66, of New Castle passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his home. He was born April 27, 1951 in Bellefontaine, OH to the late Gene and Jan (Oliver) Terrell.
In all things Ron did, Karla, his high school sweetheart and wife was by his side. Early in their marriage, Ron and Karla worked while he attended and graduated from The Ohio State University, and then taught school for a short time. After beginning a family, they joined Ron’s parents and 4 brothers and moved to New Castle to start a business. Shortly thereafter they purchased the farm where they raised their family. Ron continued to work in agriculture throughout his career.
Ron supported and prepared his sons, Wes and Jason, to live meaningful lives and each now have their own young families. His example taught them trust, generosity, how to build and repair almost anything, and most importantly an unshakable commitment to family.
When Ron became a grandfather ten years ago, his affection for family became visibly apparent. He adored his grandchildren. He and Karla spent time with them whenever possible. He laughed at their silliness, listened to their stories, showed them great love, and rarely told them no to any of their requests.
Ron will be greatly remembered and missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karla (Berridge) Terrell of New Castle; children, Wesley (Kristen) Terrell of Noblesville; Jason (Amy) Terrell of West Chester, PA; grandchildren, Sylvie Jan and Drennan of Noblesville; Carson, Ethan and Hudson of West Chester, PA; brothers, Tom (Kathy) Terrell of New Castle, Ken (Sandy) Terrell of South Carolina and Todd (Luma) Terrell of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law, Kathy Terrell of Spiceland; uncle, Raleigh (Phyllis) Oliver of West Liberty, OH; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Terrell.
Services will be 10:00a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Jeff Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
