Ronald (Ron) Waitt

March 1, 1939 — February 9, 2024

Ronald (Ron) Waitt, 84, of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Long Branch, NJ, where he raised his family and started a successful landscaping business.

Ron lived with high character and integrity, was a hard worker supporting his family, and finished his career as the maintenance director for Luftman Towers in Tinton Falls, NJ.

He was an enthusiast of Harley Davidson motorcycles, a ferocious reader, and pursued a life of honor, noble deeds, higher thoughts, and charitable works.

Ron was a member and Past Master of the Navesink #9 F&AM and is a Past District Deputy Grand Master of New Jersey, a life member of the Scottish Rite in the Valley of Central Jersey, and a decades-long member of the Eatontown Elks #2402.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Florence (Cookie) Harris Waitt; his father, Chester Waitt, a 41-year LB Patrolman; his mother, Eleanor Hazel Wells Waitt of Kentucky; and his son, Ronald W. Waitt Jr.

Ron is survived by his four daughters, scores of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who loved him desperately.

Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service of New Castle is handling his cremation, and a brief service in his honor will be held in his home state of New Jersey at a later date.

His family would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Henry County Hospital, HCH Home Care, and HCH Hospice for their invaluable support to Ron and his family.
Memorials can be at Shriners Hospitals for Children, or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
