Rose Ann Chew

Rose Ann Chew, 79, of Knightstown passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at IU Health North Hospital. She was born May 15, 1943 in Knightstown the daughter of Joseph and Miriam (Rhodes) Thompson.

Rose Ann was an active member of the Knightstown First Christian Church for over 50 years where she also served as a Junior Church leader. She was a housewife and also worked at Mayhill Publication for many years. She enjoyed crafting, watching the kids and grandchildren play in sports and various activities, watching old westerns and older TV shows. Rose Ann was a Cub Scout leader for over 30 years. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Gilbert “Gib” L. Chew, Jr., Jeff (Kim) Chew, Mick J. (Dorsi) Chew and Edwin “Eddie” (Nancy) Chew; grandchildren, Shelby Chew, Thomas (Izzy) Chew, Lauren (Brandon) Taylor, Megan (Levi) Borders, Meghan (Forrest) Beals, Nicholas Chew, Alexandra (Michael) Chew-Null, Valerie and Trey Chew; five great grandchildren, Evan, Lily, Stori, Mila and Eleanor; siblings, J. Bruce Thompson II, Linda Priest, Tim (Barbara) Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert “Gibo” Chew.

Services will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral
Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Larry Wheat officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Wednesday.
