Ruth Elizabeth Hunt, 95, of Dunreith, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at the home of her daughter. She was born June 6, 1924 in Henry County a daughter of Harry Lee and Anna Hillman (Asbury) Williams.
Ruth worked at various flower shops, and then opened Hilltop Florist in 1974, retiring in 1986. She attended the Christian Church of Dunreith. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, traveling, cooking, baking and loved her dogs. Ruth married the love of her life, Richard Parker “Dick” Hunt on April 19, 1941.
She is survived by a daughter, Eleanor Kay (Richard) Houchins of Dunreith; 5 grandchildren, Lisa (Ric) Hall, Raeann (Tim) Johnson, Todd and Chad (Tisha) Green; three step grandchildren, Allen (Jennifer) Houchins, Brenda (Mike) Todd and Barbara (Steve) Fort; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law: Ruth Williams.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Hunt; a daughter, Donna Green; two brothers: Homer Lee and Ralph Williams.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastors Anthony Darling and Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday, prior to the service.
