Samuel O. Cook, 61, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2025, Henry Community Health. He was born September 29, 1963, in New Castle, a son of the late Charles E. and Tamara (Winter) Cook.
Sam was employed for several years at Emery Worldwide and Walmart in New Castle. He enjoyed auto body restoration, and working on cars in general. He loved his dogs and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was big in his faith in God and enjoyed his visits by Pastor Josh Robertson of Spiceland Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors are two sons, Cory (Frankie) Cook of Spiceland, and Brad Perdue-Cook (Brittany) of New Castle; two sisters, Rachel (Chuck) Hamby of New Castle, and Kris (James Roberts) Cook of Knightstown; a brother, Charles E. Cook of Knightstown; his stepmother, Loveanna Cook of New Castle; grandchildren, Dakota, Jordan, Mercades (Jacon Payne) and Lexi Raley, Hunter, Hailey, Carter, Bradley Jr., Eevee and Svaeda; great grandchildren, Chevi, Bristol and Hudson; several nieces and nephews. Sam’s family would like to give a special thank you to niece Angie Craine for the help and care she has given Sam.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Renee Cook.
Services will be on Friday August 1, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday July 31, 2025, at the funeral home.
