Scott D. Cronk, 69, passed away on April 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and deep ties to his community. He was born on March 8, 1957, in New Castle to the late William “Bill” and Marian (New) Cronk.
Known for his steady presence and willingness to help others, Scott spent many years as a business owner and was an active, hands-on member of the community he cared so much about.
Scott took great pride in his work maintaining the Springport and Mt. Summit cemeteries, where he mowed the grounds and dug graves with care and respect. He carried on a tradition of service instilled by his father, the late William “Bill” Cronk, and will be remembered as a true steward of his community and a dependable friend to many. He was a lifelong IU Hoosiers fan.
Scott will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his loyalty, and the quiet but meaningful impact he made on his community. His memory will live on in the lives he touched and his family.
He is survived by his children, Mollee Cronk of Butlerville, Indiana, Emilee Boling of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tiffanee (Dustin) Miller of Chandler, Arizona, and Clint Cronk (USAF) of Mililani, Oahu, Hawaii.
He also leaves behind his special girlfriend and best friend of 23 years, Kris Hayden of Middletown; grandchildren, Alexander Smith (USAF) of Italy, Jakob and Trent Baker, Madysen, Maryah, Maycie, and Mylee Boling, all of Indiana, Max and Martina McKee of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Daphne Miller of Chandler, Arizona; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his two siblings, Greg and Jenny Cronk, both of Sulphur Springs; nieces, Katie Cronk of Bloomington, Indiana, and Meghan Winter of Verona, Wisconsin; great niece and nephew, Emily and Benjamin Winter both of Wisconsin; and his two beloved dogs Chevy and Cami.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Cronk and Marian (New) Cronk.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Mt. Summit Cemetery with Tony Piper officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society at 11 Midway Dr., New Castle, IN, 47362.
