Shawna Marie Thompson

Shawna Marie Thompson, 55, of Muncie passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at her residence. She was born May 15, 1970 in New Castle to Douglas and Patricia (Brown) Perkins.

Shawna was a 1988 graduate of Blue River Valley High School. She worked at the Holiday Inn in New Castle and in Florida. Shawna was also employed at Daymar Corporation in Middletown. She enjoyed rock music and loved spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish Shawna’s memory include her son, Douglas Keith Thompson; father, Doug (Charlotte) “Sherry” Perkins of Clearwater, Florida; sisters, Carla (Allen) Leach of Eaton, Ohio, Jennifer Perkins of New Castle and Lonna (Bruce) Bean of New Palestine; brother, Tony Perkins of New Castle; step-brother, Billy Farnsworth of Florida; aunts and uncles, Gary Brown of New Castle, Danny (Kathy) Perkins of New Castle, Bonnie Perkins of New Castle and Barbara (Tom) Perry of Somerset, Kentucky.

Shawna was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Perkins; grandmothers, Annabelle Perkins and O'leta Brown and an uncle, Gilbert “Gib” Perkins.

A celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Phil Morgan officiating.
