Sherri L. Johnson

Sherri L. Johnson, 54, of Knightstown passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at her home following an extended illness. She was born November 11, 1971, in New Castle to the late Richard and Shirley (Melton) Sayre.

She attended New Castle Chrysler High School. Sherri worked in accounting for several companies, including MSI in Indianapolis. After she retired, she created Sherri’s T-shirt Designs, making t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats.

Sherri was a beautiful woman with a spark for life like no other. Other than her professional career she loved the outdoors. Sherri enjoyed camping and hiking. She loved spending time with her kids and her grandson. She was so proud of her children, becoming successful adults. Kaidyn was a big part of her life. The two of them became best friends. She loved to watch the sunsets, especially over Lake Michigan. Sherri will be dearly missed by all of us.

She is survived by her husband, Jon Johnson; daughter, Cheyenne (Austin) Harp of New Castle; son, Devon Niedenthall of Mechanicsburg; grandson, Kaidyn Harp; sister, Melody Sayre Cheek of Spiceland; step-son, Taylor (Montana Craig) Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Sayre, Jr.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Tony Piper officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
