Stephen Michael “Mick” Gosser Sr., 81, of New Castle, passed away on May 28, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 22, 1944, in Henry County to the late Chester Gosser and Ruby (Fowler) Williams.
Mick was a 1963 graduate of Lewisville High School, where he played on the basketball team. He retired as a toolmaker from Chrysler Corporation in 2001, after 37 years of service.
Mick’s personality was uniquely his own. Reserved by nature, he possessed a dry sense of humor that those fortunate enough to know him well deeply appreciated. In the company of close friends and in the right setting, he would light up the room, becoming the life of the party.
Mick was an avid golfer, poker player, and ping pong enthusiast. He was passionate about gardening, taking immense pride in his home and yard, which were celebrated through inclusion in the New Castle Garden Tour for many years. He had an admiration for iconic sports legends like Larry Bird and Jack Nicklaus.
Beyond his hobbies, Mick had been a valued member of the Elks, Eagles, American Legion, and Westwood Country Club. Mick’s greatest pride, however, was his house, his meticulously cared-for yard, and the family who surrounded him with love and support. These were the pillars of his life and the legacy he cherished most.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Sabrina Gosser (Eric Ping) and Stephen Gosser Jr. (Cristian Hodson); grandchildren, Billy Anderson III, Michael Anderson, Rocky Anderson, Aaron (Samantha) Gosser, and Ashlee (Corey) Skomp; great grandchildren, Gavin Anderson, Liliana Gosser, Coraline Skomp, Madison Gosser, and Hallie Gosser; and several very close lifelong friends.
In addition to his parents, Mick was preceded in death by his siblings, Roger "Squeak" Reagon, Bobbi Conkle, and Janie Reagon; previous wife, Sue Gosser; and several very close lifelong friends.
