Tammy Jo Sparks, 65, of New Castle went to her heavenly home Saturday, March 14, 2026 at her residence. She was born in New Castle September 20, 1960 to Frederick C. Ford, Jr. and Eula (Upchurch) Ford.
Tammy was a 1978 graduate of Blue River High School. Throughout her career, Tammy worked at Country Acre Animal Clinic and was a physical education teacher at Agape Learning Center. Tammy then worked in customer service at Offi-Source and retired from Henry County Memorial Hospital after 15 years of service. She had attended Foursquare Church and most recently First Baptist Church in New Castle. Tammy’s hobbies included playing volleyball and Euchre. She also enjoyed gardening, landscaping and going to the movies. Tammy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and taking care of her grandbabies, who affectionately called her Nini.
Those left to cherish Tammy’s memory are her husband of 45 years, Jeff Sparks; son, Jonathan “Bradley” Sparks of New Castle; daughter, Courtney (Chris) Lacy of New Castle; grandchildren, Brody Liljedahl, Kenley and Marlee Lacy; her mother, Eula Van Note of Venice, Florida; sister, Sherri Wells of Indianapolis; brother Frederick “Fritz” (Leah) Ford III; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnie (Brenda) Sparks, Vanessa (Scott) Razor, Greg (Lynnda) Sparks and Richard “Scott” (Patsy) Sparks; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and many lifelong friends.
In addition to her father, Tammy was preceded in death by her stepmother, Patty Ford; an infant brother and her grandparents.
A private Celebration of Tammy’s Life will be held at the convenience of the family at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. You may express condolences or share a memory of Tammy at www.hinsey-brown.com.
