Teresa J. “Terry” Fraley, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, June 15, 2026 at Eskanazi Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born December 3, 1951 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Raymond Richard and Vera Bernice (Rozell) Schaefer.
Terry graduated from Arlington High School in 1970. She began her career with American States Insurance, where she worked as an underwriter from 1976 to 1981. In 1981, she married the love of her life, Larry Fraley, and became his devoted partner until his untimely passing in 1999. Following Larry's death, Terry courageously took over his concrete business, leading it with dedication and success for more than 25 years before retiring in 2025.
Terry found joy in life's simple pleasures. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting with Jeannie in their "happy place," watching the birds and squirrels. She treasured family gatherings and never forgot a birthday or special occasion. She especially looked forward to sharing wonderful meals, seeing how much the younger generations had grown, and spending precious time with those she loved.
In recent years, one of Terry's greatest joys was watching Liberty grow up. She loved sharing her "sneaky snacks," hiding away in her room to watch cartoons, and playing pretend games together. Terry often said Liberty was the most beautiful hurricane she had ever seen—since Ashley. She also enjoyed watching ballgames and movies with Rick and adored the family dogs, Molly, Max, and Gracie, who could often be found curled up beside her in her chair. Terry frequently spoke about how much she loved watching all the children grow up over the years and how grateful she was to be such an important part of their lives.
Terry will also be remembered as the fastest potato peeler in the family. Every Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, she proudly took on the task of peeling and dicing countless pounds of potatoes and sweet potatoes. Poppy often said he loved watching her work because "she moves so fast you can't see her hands." She was also unmatched when it came to wrapping gifts, making labels, and creating lists. In fact, family members often joked that her lists had lists. Organization was her specialty.
Terry loved sharing stories about the good old days. The many fishing trips, fish fries, and vacations to Florida brought her a lifetime of cherished memories and happiness.
Terry will always be deeply loved and greatly missed. Her enormous heart, unwavering loyalty, kindness, generosity, and loving presence left an immeasurable impact on all who knew her.
