Thomas H. Summers, 78 died July 28, 2017 at his home in Indianapolis, IN
He leaves his brother Gerald “Jerry” Summers; Nieces – Jill (Doug) Anderson, Teri (Bob) Echterling, Kim Summers Bentley, Toni (Sean) Patterson; Nephews – Bo (Nancie) White, Mark (Michelle) Summers, Gerald (Lori) Armour; close friend – Soo “Sam” Park.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Quinlan & Florence Summers; Siblings - Joan White nee: Summers, Patricia Summers, Carol Summers nee: Lewis, Philip White Jr. Nephews – Gerald M. White, John K. Summers
Tommy was born and raised in New Castle, IN where he played basketball, ran track and pole-vaulted for the New Castle Trojans. He enlisted in the US Army then attended Ball State University. He then went to work for the Chrysler Corp. in Indianapolis, IN where he lived most of his life.
Tom was an avid golfer who spent much time at Riverside Golf Course where he played and worked. Recently, “Spinner” could often be found watching his buddies make the turn.
Tom had a passion for IU basketball and tinkering with small motors. He could repair just about anything. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his beloved Springer Spaniels.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service of New Castle, IN with visitation from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. Tom will rest eternally at St. Anne’s Cemetery, New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Tom at
