Toni Lynn Ward

January 30, 1954 — May 13, 2026

New Castle

Toni Lynn Ward, 72, of New Castle, passed away on May 13, 2026 at Henry Community Hospital. She was born on January 30, 1954, in New Castle, to the late Harry and Virginia Sue (DeHart) Roseberry.

A proud 1972 graduate of Blue River High School, Toni embarked on a career at Allegheny Ludlum. Toni possessed a heart of gold; she never knew a stranger and was often described as an angel by those close to her. Toni enjoyed traveling and loved the color blue. Her love for animals was particularly evident in her devotion to her dogs, and she treasured memories of the horse she cared for in her youth. She found joy in simple pleasures—lounging in the sun and embracing the freedom of going barefoot. She was a talented musician, playing piano, organ, and guitar.

Toni loved decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Castle, where she attended with her husband.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 51 years, Kenneth Ward, whom she met on a blind date; children, Skylar Ward, Sheena Ward, and Shylia Ward (fiancé Derek Sandlin); grandchildren, Andrew Huddleston and Lucy Ward; and siblings, Tim Roseberry and Terry Roseberry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandma Letha Roseberry and her papaw Fred Roseberry.

There will be a private graveside service to honor Toni’s life. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Humane Society, at 11 Midway Dr., New Castle, IN 47362, or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, here. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Toni at www.hinsey-brown.com.
