Veronica Kaye Walsh

Veronica Kaye Walsh, 44, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born September 18, 1980, in New Castle to Lawrence Walker Jr. and Sandra (Neal) Morgan.

A 1999 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at The University of Southern Indiana in Evansville. She had been employed by Sallie Mae, The Danielson Center, Apple Call Center and Superior Contact in Michigan.

A quadriplegic, Veronica, belonged to many wheelchair groups. Her story was recently featured by Jessica Stracham, a wheelchair fitness professional. Veronica was her first wheelchair weight-loss client.

Veronica loved cooking, anything tye dye and smiley faces, and was a true social butterfly. “I never met anybody that didn’t like her”, says her husband, Chris.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Chris Walsh of New Castle, her mom, Jerri Walker of New Castle; a brother, Lawrence Allen Walker III (Mandy) of Philadelphia, PA; her father, Lawrence Walker Jr. of New Castle; her birth mother, Sandra Morgan of Monticello, KY: nephews, John, Jack, and James Walker, niece, Olivia Walker, all of Philadelphia; mother-in-law, Karla Cooper of Muncie; sister-in-law, Laney Strain of Indianapolis, niece, Mackenzie Hirons of Seattle, WA.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Lawrence and Florence Walker.

Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Open Arms Church with her brother, Lawrence Walker III officiating. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
