Violet June Ankrom

Violet June Ankrom, 61, a resident of Midland, Pennsylvania and formerly of Mooreland, Indiana passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Beaver Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania. She was born November 18, 1963 in New Castle to the late Mendel and Patricia Ann (Coffee) Ankrom.

A free spirit, Violet enjoyed listening to music and dancing. She loved reading her Bible and Our Daily Bread devotional. She had many hobbies, including cooking, gardening, growing flowers and camping out. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish Violet’s memory are her companion of fourteen years, David Groce of Midland, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Wendy Adkins of Mooreland; granddaughters, Bailey Nichole Jeffries and Erica Marie Rose Jeffries; a sister, Judy Ann “Aunt Chicky” Ankrom of New Castle and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her son, Joze Wayne Compton; a sister, Teresa Lynn “Aunt Cookie” Denny and an aunt who helped raise her, Mary Current.

A Celebration of Violet’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Mooreland Community Building from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Services have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Violet at www.hinsey-brown.com.
